Event Information

Seventh Annual Walking for Dreams - An annual fundraising Family and Pet Walk to help local Indianapolis non-profit organizations to be held on Sunday May 23, 2010 on the Canal in downtown Indianapolis.

Registration begins at 1:00 and the walk starts at 2:00 p.m.

Thanks to local corporate and individual sponsors all checks written by participant and contributors will go directly to their selected organization and should be made payable to them.

Location

Walking for Dreams registration area and beginning and ending of the Walk will be at the north end of the Canal at Buggs Temple .

Buggs Temple is located at 337 West 11^th Street between Meridian and Dr. Martin Luther King Drive .

If on Meridian , turn west on 12^th Street to Capitol.  Turn south on Capitol and west on 11^th Street at the Stutz Building . Buggs Temple will be two blocks on the left past Senate Ave. across from the Clarian Pathology building. 

Note that 11^th Street is one-way east at Meridian and one-way west at Capitol.

Buggs Temple was originally built in 1918, the building has lent itself to several church establishments. In 1969, the Buggs Temple Church was established by its founding pastor, Reverend James C. Buggs. In 1993 Buggs Temple was donated to the city of Indianapolis and in 2003 Buggs Development Group, LLC began to move forward with their plans to create a public gathering place at the headwaters of the canal.

FREE Parking is available in the following lots:

• REI - Gateway Plaza parking lot at the north of 11th Street between Senate and Capital.
• Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis parking lot - 1011 Dr. MLK Jr. Street
• Street parking is also available along 11th Street , Senate and Capital Avenues.
